The exhibition aims to investigate the similarities and characteristics in the styles of Titian, Tintoretto and Veronese. Curators Thomas Dalla Costa and Viktoria Markova selected twenty-three works that are organized thematically. Visitors will be able to view some of the most significant masterpieces by these artists, sourced from churches in Venice and from museums throughout Italy. Generous loans were granted by the Gallerie Estensi, the Gallerie dell’Accademia, the Capodimonte Museum and more. These include both large scale public commissions, such as altarpieces, but also private pieces such as portraits or works intended for private devotion. The different interpretations each of the three artists gave to mythological subjects is also investigated.
